I got back from my vacation in Chicago a few days ago, and I must say that my time there was excellent! I loved being a jr. counsilor at a rock camp! The band that I helped out with, their name was Good Krama. They sounded a bit like Sonic Youth! Some workshops we had were songwriting, alternative instruments, zine making, and t-shirt and button making! In the afternoon, the girls would have band practice. On Saturday, everyone performed at the showcase, and on Sunday, they went to a recording studio and recorded their songs. I can’t wait til the CD comes out! I’m super excited!
When I wasn’t at camp, I mostly stayed at my Tante and Onkle’s (German for Aunt and Uncle) house. There wasn’t any air conditioning where the camp was held, so I was really hot, sweaty, and tired when I got home. I tried tons of new food when I was in Chicago, like Indian and Thai.
